Dress Code

DRESS CODE

School is a professional environment and we would like to have our students and staff dress in a manner that reflects a more professional style.  Every environment has guidelines for specific types of clothing and it is our belief that our school has a responsibility for helping students to prepare for the outside world and the workforce.  It is also important that students are allowed the freedom to reflect their personality and personal taste without offending others.  These guidelines also extend to students and staff who participate in extracurricular activities.

Head Wear:

  • No head wear at all, including hats, bandanas and hoods.

Shirts/Shorts/Skirts/Pants:

  • Shirts need to reach the top of jeans.
  • No abdomen should be showing.
  • No see-through or backless shirts.
  • No cleavage showing.
  • Shorts should be of sufficient length (longer than the hand when it is held at the student's side).
  • Skirts and skorts should be no shorter than one hand width from the knee to the bottom of the skirt.
  • No strapless tops.

Messages/Slogans:

  • No alcohol or drug-related, profane, sexual or demeaning/degrading messages on clothing/backpacks, gym bags, etc.

Footwear:

  • Students should have clean indoor shoes during inclement weather.
  • No open-toed shoes are allowed in the Science Lab or Industrial Arts Lab.

Physical Education Program:

  • Students are required to have a t-shirt, shorts or track/sweat pants.
  • No spaghetti straps or "belly shirts" are allowed.
  • Criteria for shorts is the same as above.
  • Clean running shoes are required for class.
