Spend-a-day Programs

Spend-a-day Programs 2009-10
Just about every postsecondary institution has a spend-a-day program.  As information is received, it is displayed on the bulletin board in the grade 12 hallway, and a general announcement is often made.  To date these are the events that are available:
a. Universities
U of R - Regina - Campus Visits
  • UR Connected October 21 and 22

Students get an overview of programs and services at the U of R.  They also have a chance to tour campus.  Students can register on-line at www.uregina.ca/newstudent/campusvisit09.html

U of S - Saskatoon
  • Experience Us! - Thursday, October 15th- if transportation or accommodations is a problem, please see Mrs. Anderson.

  • Experience hands-on activities
  • Talk to SIAST students
  • Gather information about admission requirements and application processes
  • Learn more about employment opportunities

CSI SIAST is available to grade 11 and 12 students. Each campus has dates set aside in the fall depending on the program of interest.  On those dates students will attend for either the morning or the afternoon.  Finding programs open on these days, and registration for the events can all be done on-line at https://mychoice.gosiast.com

CSI SIAST dates:

  • Kelsey Campus - Saskatoon - TBA
  • Palliser Campus - Moose Jaw - November 10
  • Wascana Campus - Regina - November 19
  • Woodland Campus - Prince Albert - November 19

If you are interested in a school that hasn't been listed above, contact that school or Mrs. Anderson to check into spend-a-day dates.
For spend-a-day programs students are responsible for their own transportation.  The office must be notified ahead of time if students will be missing school to attend.  Finally, the institutions keep attendance, and contact the school if students do not show up.  Spaces are limited; therefore, if after registering you are unable to attend, you should notify the institution as soon as possible, so that those spots can be given to others.
