CAREER INFORMATION 

A schedule of the class periods that Mrs. Anderson is available are posted on her office door in the library. Noon hours and after school appointments can also be arranged if necessary.
There are a number of Internet sites available to help students locate career information, and available post secondary programs. These are listed below and may be accessed on the HBCH website:

  • Career Cruising - The Northeast School Division has purchased the rights to a new program to help students search for careers, and search for schools that provide necessary training for these careers.  To access this program students should go to the following site: www.careercruising.com 

To log on to this site students should use the following:

  •   Once logged on students can choose one of the following options:
  1. Career matchmaker - This interactive survey will help you find careers that match your interests.
  2. Explore careers - Find the career information you are looking for and see multimedia interviews with real people in every career.
  3. Explore Education and Training - Find out where to get the education and training you need to start your career.

  • Career Explorer: helps you determine what careers appeal to you and what your skills suit you for.  Job descriptions, help in creating a resume, help in preparing for an interview are all available on this site. http://careerexplorer.com/
  • School Finder: This site is helpful, as it will list all the schools in Canada where a program can be found. www.schoolfinder.com
  • Association of Canadian Community Colleges: This site has a searchable data base of its 175 member colleges and institutes. www.accc.ca
  • Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada: A helpful site for locating various post secondary institutes in Canada. www.aucc.ca
  • Canlearn: This is a one-stop resource for students.  It houses academic course calendars, a "dollars-and-sense" guide, and many links to sites such as one for scholarships and a job bank. www.canlearn.ca
